DESCRIPTION

Bosentan is classified as an endothelin receptor antagonist, specifically targeting endothelin receptors type A (Ki = 6.5 nM) and type B (Ki = 340 nM). It is used in the treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and other conditions associated with high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs. It inhibits ET-1 induced contraction of isolated rat aorta and sarafotoxin S6C-induced contraction of rat trachea in vitro.
